Yet another noise...fuel filler neck area

Has anyone experienced sort of a "tinkling" sound from the area behind the right rear passenger seat, below the shelf support, in the area inside the wheelwell where the filler neck for the fuel tank is? I've taken pretty much everything apart inside and outside (incl. wheelwell liner) and everything I've checked is pretty tight and does not tinkle/rattle when I put pressure on it. It sounds like a (busted, non-sprung)filler neck metal flap on the gasser VWs, except I sure as heck don't see one on my TDI. Amazingly enough, this is the only annoying fault that keeps it from being an Audi-like cockpit.

Yeah, but, guys, I'm soooo close to having this be a TOTALLY quiet VW... This is unheard of in VW-dom!

Karl, if it is the weight in the takeup reel, I guess I'll just let it go and make my ears bleed..
