What manual are you looking at? They dealer calls this the "main power relay" and the Bentleys also shows it with that name, and the (109) in parenthesis (iirc). What all is touching that "relay x"?

X contact relay is the main power relay, augmenting the function of the X contact in the ignition switch. It provides power to most loads on board when the ignition is on, except when cranking. The X relay is located in socket number 4 and has a production marking of "18". In EU B4 models, relay "109" sits in socket number 3.

The "X" relay is also known as the Load Reduction Relay. This LRR circuit is similar to the ignition switched "15" circuit except that power to the "X" components is not available when the key is in the start position.
Items powered through circuit "15" remain powered with the key in both the run and the start positions. The purpose of the LRR is to delete major electrical consumers when the demand on the battery is the greatest.
