WTB RUST FREE 1996-97 Passat TDI Wagon (B4V)

I'm on a search for a rust free B4V, preferably from Arizona, or some other very dry location. Good body a must, interior/mechanicals not so much, as I have a donor vehicle as needed.

I have a VERY nice condition b4v with low mileage and essentially no rust (1 thumbnail size bit of surface rust over wheel well). Even though it's in minneapolis, it hasn't been driven in winters in the 10+ since it has been here. Only ~ 200k miles (swapped panel so don't know exact miles).

Haven't seriously considered selling it but it really almost never gets driven anymore so might consider if interested in traveling.


Has quite a few extras/things done:
o front leather seats
o e-codes
o extra tranny (used) and clutch (new)
o resealed injection pump
o set of snows on wheels (ironic, since i didn't end up driving in winter ;-)

Only things it needs or I would do if I was going to drive it more -
o A little finicky going into first. I'm just in the habit of shifting into 2nd then first. Works fine that way. May just be a shift cable adjustment needed, not sure.
o Rear shocks definitely needed. All front-end components done recently but didn't tackle rears which I understand are a chore on these. There is a different procedure posted here that is supposed to make it much easier but haven't pursued yet.

I'd be looking for probably what most would consider over market to consider selling ($5k neighborhood).

I've got a repainted blue one located in Southern California. It's not quite Windsor Blue but it's close I think. Zero rust. It's got 200,000 miles. It's my daily right now, stock exhaust, but rebuilt injection pump, rebuilt injectors with 520s, Stage 3 Malone. newish clutch plate, fresh paint and upholstery, sweet looking headlights, and gets ~45-48 mpg highway. It's got a wobble that I'm going to have fixed by the time I refresh all suspension parts up front by the end of this or next week. Also it's got a vacuum leak somewhere in the engine compartment that I can get to eventually. Pm if your interested, I would fix everything before selling. But this car is my baby so I would ask way above market.

Edit: it's actually silk blue, not Windsor blue
