WTB - Phoenix, AZ (South West) MK3 Golf TDI 95-96; white, silver, green. NOT interested in black, blue, red, or gold.

Would consider a MK2 Golf with A/C too.

Thanks!

Funny, I don't think I've ever seen a MK3 Golf TDI swap. MK2s are around, although not many.

I already bought it.

I was going after a stock diesel via the VIN. Found an 86' MK2 four door Golf two owners within the family for $1000. Has A/C and looks fairly clean except for a lil door rust. The 1.6na is taking a ****, but I got a complete 98 Jetta TDI MK3 to swap over internals for it.

Hope to have it TDI Swapped by early 2024.

I have a 91 Golf converted to MTDI.
Got the engine running, now I'm doing the 02A trany swap.
Glad to hear you found a MK2 Golf to save.
I do like the MK3 golfs too though.

I guess I wasn't too clear of what I was looking for.

So, my biggest issue living in Phoenix is emissions.

I'd have to smog any MK3 or MK4 here; yearly or every other year. I'm not opposed to that, assuming the emissions was intact; most MK3 & MK4's seem to have it gutted.

The MK2 works out, as it was originally a 1.6na and the MK2 diesels came with a straight pipe; maybe a muffler. Essentially, no emissions equipment on the car, but I get the luxury of A/C still!

I'm hoping, I can plop the AHU/ALH into it after massaging all the details, and be good to go without too much emission/DMV bullshit.

Thanks all. See you out there!
