WTB New TDI SportWagen (Help finding exactly what I want)

Hey all-

I'm looking for a 2010 or '11 Jetta SportWagen new. I'm specific in what I want, wondered if you all had any ideas on a way to find the exact car I'm looking for? Of course, also want a great deal on said car. Here's what I'm looking for:

2010 or 2011 VW Jetta SportWagen TDI
Exterior Colors: White Gold, Platinum Grey, or Tempest Blue
Interior Color: Either
Options: Manual Trans, Sunroof

Willing spend $24,500 +/- as this seems like best dealer price out there

I went on the VW's website and listed all of the Dealerships within a reasonable driving distance and then checked their inventory on line every few days. Some Dealerships do a better job than others with updates and descriptions. After a while you'll be able to quickly appraise a car's options just by looking at the MSRP.

If you visit a Dealer they can do a computer inquiry, but I've never been a fan of having a new car driven in from somewhere else.

Chris did right by Wendy and I. Well worth the 5 hour drive to get our loaded 2010 Jetta Sportwagon TDI DSG. First class guy and First class deal. Stealerships in my area would not even deal. Will get my next new one from Chris. Allen

Wouldn't shipping the car cost a fair amount and thus negate any savings that might be had?

KTM, as far as a 2010 model, there are only two remaining in the US in your color choices and both are in Texas and are loaded up over $29k.

You state that you are in the Midwest, which would be VW's Central Region. There are 16 vehicles showing available in your color choices with a manual transmission and panoramic sunroof ranging in list price of $26,800 (no optional mat kits) to $28,740.00 (loaded, but without navigation) with the majority at $27,035.00. Invoice on the $27,035 car is $25,814.00 and there is $500 in dealer cash available. There is about $525 in dealer holdback, so you can do the math and see how close to $24,500 you could get.

Thanks a ton for the pricing info, helps a lot in knowing where they are hiding money from trades, etc. Now how do I go about finding these cars hiding here in the midwest? Seems like the dealer stock info on their websites is always either outdated or woefully incomplete (missing color, options, etc)? Thanks!!

That sounds like a no brainer. And, why ship it? For a few hundred bucks you can fly in and enjoy a leisurely drive home while sightseeing and getting acclimated to your new car.
