Looking for a clean, NO RUST MkV or MKVI sportwagen.

Prefer a 2009-2014 Manual or DSG. Well cared for example. Want a car from the original owner who got the fix done. Service records are nice too.

Some of the auction cars being sold by curbstoners, used car and VW dealers are trash! It looks like many owners just stopped taking care of these after the buyback was announced. I'm sure their are some nice auction cars out there however I haven't found one yet.

Really like a 2010 from a TDI enthusiast.

Anyway let me know if you have one. I'm in CA so keep that in mind.

Thanks!

Not sure if you are interested... I have a 2.0T TSi 2009 SEL that has been meticulously maintained. It gets 32mpg even with a K04 turbo and all bolt ons.

CPO Expectations..

CPO=warranty and maybe new tires. As a buyer of a non CPO wagon a few months ago I realized after looking at both CPO and non CPO JSW's it was truly just price and the 2 year warranty that set them apart. Some CPO cars had previous body damage reported, missed oil changes, etc. They were not going the extra mile to service the CPO cars (brake fluid flushes, DSG service, fuel filter changes, etc.)

From my experience with the car since 3 months of ownership the minimum should be included with a CPO purchase:

(Partial list)
Oil, brake fluid change and main battery replacement, air filter/ in cabin filter.
Both remote keys-owners were required to provide when they turned in
Owners Manuals and warranty info (many prior owners took their books out)
Tire replacement (unless less than 2 years old) (storage outdoors takes its toll on rubber)
Sunroof clean and lube, door hinge lubrication.

Many of these cars sat in the desert or have deferred maintenance as their owners were in limbo awaiting an answer on fix, buyback or assumed their cars were going to the crusher.

The market is now being flooded with the inventory cherry pick your car and strike your best deal, CPO will gain you warranty but shouldn't cost more than 1k more than a non CPO model.

No TSI 2.0. Not one of VWs best engines...

Yes I know about deferred maintenance. I did the same thing before turning in my '09. I didn't do anything but oil and FF changes for the last 2 years and it had multiple issues. Even the battery gave up a month before my BB appointment and I was able to save the battery with the "revive" feature on my NOCO smart charger. Allowed to take a charge again so I could limp it in to the dealership.

I recently looked at a CPO '14 JSW that was a big disappointment. There is a thread I created about it in the Mk VI sub-forum.

Hoping to find a 2009-2014 that an owner planned on keeping and then changed their mind. Hard to sort out the curbstoners selling auction cars from actual owners on craigslist though. They will just lie and lie to try to make the sale. What a waste of time...

Anyway let me know if you have something!
