Don't limit your search. You should just try to find the best Golf you can, 2-door or 4-door. There are far more 4-door Golfs out there. Back in 2003 when I was trying to buy my first Golf, I thought I wanted a 2-door. But when the transporter showed up at at a local dealership, all the Golfs were 4-door models, and I was and still am happy with the one I bought.
