Hey all!

I have been told that Mk3 TDIs have an extra sound deadener in the cowl area (behind the wiper motor, etc). I would like to buy one for my Cabrio. Part number is 1H0863994 if that helps anyone.

I also would like a Mk3 sound deadening belly pan, if I could find one reasonably. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

i have a belly pan you can have. it has 2 holes cut into it in the front from where i had it mounted above a skidplate. i don't have the "diaper" anymore though... (the plastic piece that covers around the oil pan. i'm not going to use it anymore. i also have the sound deadening on my mk3 i guess i could give up.... as i think i want to put some dynamat back there

Help this guy out! This is THE guy who started www.A2Resource.com, the best CE2 wiring help on the web!

Jason I would have offered up the one from my 98 Rustetta but it was mostly eaten by rodents :(
Thanks! That bracket you sold me is working out wonderfully btw, if you want to see the rest of that project here it is:

Cool, thanks! But what exactly are you referring to? What is the "diaper" and what is it's relationship to the belly pan? I mean the plastic that goes from wheel to wheel and under the engine, to contain noise.

there is a big rectangular hole in the plastic belly pan for the oil pan to stick through. there is a separate plastic piece (some people call it a diaper lol) that clips to the oil pan/block to complete it. i don't have that piece

Oh, I don't see that in ETKA. Strange. I'll have to track one down I guess! But, that would be awesome and I'd be much appreciative if we could figure out a way to get that on my car :)

EDIT: found the belly pan in the oil pan section, based on a part number i saw you post: 028 103 660, in case anyone wonders :)
