You want an engine or a car? Jetta, golf, wagon? Stick or auto? Price range? Assuming you're remotely close to my area, pickings are kinda slim for nice tdi/mk4 vehicles. Usually they are pretty rotten from being daily driven. Took me years to find one that was mostly rot free, still had close to 200k on it. There's a few in our area ish listed on market place that need some work. May be worth looking into.

Picking have been slim at the local junk yards. I've been keeping an eye out for a spare engine for the 01. J&d doesn't have any mk4 tdi alh or pd. Eashes didn't have anything last I checked, (been a few months now.) Last month I went up to grebble u-pull it and the few mk4 tdi were picked clean. No injection pumps, turbos gone or ripped off and tossed to the side, missing heads. Didn't look much at the pd engines. Haven't reached out to these guys
Kid I work with uses them for his vw. They are supposed ri have a good assortment of used parts.

PA people can watch the LKQ yards in/around Baltimore. After years of near-zero TDIs, there are now some MkIV's are popping up. Two Jetta TDIs right now (in nice shape, which almost always means the 01M has died, and the owner was told "the cost of repair is worth more than the value of the car" or some other terrible formula for TCO). Last month there was a silver TDI wagon. LKQ yards are now "searchable" via their online system, which is pictured-based.

I saw a spare ALH with trans for sale in NY that's listed on fb marketplace. idk if traveling to go get it is an option for you, but figured I'd toss that over your way as a maybe.
