WTB: \'86-\'93 any diesel in MI

Ok, I can't really afford a TDI, as much as I'd like one. So I'm looking for a decent VW diesel of any year and model in the sub-$3000 range. Must be stickshift.

Engine condition is important, body not (but no total rustbuckets).

Look in canada, there are tons of nice used diesels up there. Not certain about bringing down some of the models not offered here in the US, but for example, they sold the earlier model passats (b3s) with TDs in Canada.

If you could import it would be a real neat (and rare) car in the US!!

me drivin and gettin almost 50 mpg drivin Mi speeds!!!!

i'll keep my eyes open.

But that said Hondo found a very nice specimen by driving down to Lousiana - pretty much rust free. And it was only one tank of fuel in his TDI!
