I’ve made one other post before, but I’d like to make another updating my criteria. I am a college student in Michigan looking for a high mpg/low insurance commuter for driving from my campus to work (about 40 minutes one-way). I’ve been shopping on-and-off for three to four months looking for a Golf TDi that’s in somewhat decent shape, which seems to be a big ask these days. A few criteria I’d like cars to meet:
1. Preferably not silver/gold/white. Not my favorite colors, I’d prefer one in green, blue, or black, in that order.
2. MUST be manual.
3. No rust (I am prepared to travel outside the salt belt). I hope to keep it out of the salt myself and drive my truck with winter tires in those conditions. I’m pretty sentimental with vehicles, especially older ones, so I’d really like to get one that’s in decent condition and keep it nice.
4. No crazy mods. An intake, wheels, or a reasonable exhaust setup shouldn’t be a problem. Just no crazy hood stacks or crappy coilovers. Looking for a grandpa car, essentially.
5. No accidents, just as a precaution.
6. Black interior with a sunroof is preferred.
7. Under $10k
