Alright, now that I got the Q-Loader and program installed I poured and completely topped off vented tank, I decided to drive her nice and hard to check low end milage. So, every time I goto work I break triple digits and basically drive like I was in a chase scene from CHiPs(It's Detroit, so its not really uncommon). I have hit 125 mph and have been over 115 several times.

She hit the half tank mark with just over 300 miles showing. Now, when I did not vent and drove with a light ish foot she would put up 315 at a half tank. So with a guess I am guessing its well under 40mpg! I'm actually wondering if its less then 35. I should do a top off again tonight and get a final number.

Anyone else got a low end milage because they are addicted to speed?

My friend have heavy foot, 400km (248mi) to empty with Jetta TDI A3 (same car to me).
This run is WOT most time.
I never make under 600km on my car! (i like hard acceleration but not top speed)

Ona full tank, If I take it realy easy I get 750KM, witha very very heavy foot, I just break 400 (and that includes a fair bit of drag racing).

That is still probably better than most gassers

I have received 36 mpg as my worst. Driving around in town, playing on dirt roads, and the like. Havnt chipped yet so not sure how far down that can go. Best so far hasnt been determined. I havnt had it that long to find out :D

Need to start a best and worst milage list, with no mods done... When I go back into work tonight ill Vent off and figure it out. Only problem is I'm going to Spain for a month this Sat for work. So I won't be able to get a good easy-does-it tank in with all the new stuff I have done.

my worst in my Mk4 is 35. My best is 51. This with al the mods and big wheels. At 85mph and up I average 42. Sometimes 40, depending on where I buy fuel.

I also average around 42mpg. My daily commute average about 45mph on the way to work and 30mph on the way home, I am heavy footed and reach very high speeds on the highway when I do drive on them.

My first tank with the 764's was 48mpg and that was with a heavy foot checking out the new found power. My best w/out the 764's was 52mpg but maybe I can get a tank in the 50's with the 764's if I try. My worst was 42 in the winter. I wonder what will happen with an Aligator tune or boxes?

I usually get at least 625-650 miles on a tank (vented of course!) and usually end up at around 42-45 mpg and that's with a fairly heavy foot and a fwe triple-digit rus thrown into the mix, as well as 50/50 city/highway driving. Worst is 40.5 mpg - bad fuel! Funny thing is that the Wagon gets about the same mileage as the Bora regardless of the fact that it's down quite a bit in power in comparison!

12.482 Gallons @ 486 miles puts it at 38.93 mpg.

Really not that bad considering how hard I was on it. =)

This is pretty much exactly what I get.... and I am the first off every stop light all year round... I drive 50/50 highway and I average 85 on the highway.

If I take my 18's of I gain like 5MPG.

We have no Highways here, it 100% city driving (50% of such driving is "drive it as you stole it")

As such, I'm not really sure I can compare my milage with you guys as we have no highways.

Also, for some reason my milage has never chaged, not even with th epower mods.

As I am now, I get regular 600KM with a very heavy foot, and soeed often over 160kph (for a few seconds till the next curve though :( )

None currently. MK4/5/6 Jetta's in the past.
I can't get under 40mpg in my car. Worst tank is 42mpg, and that was 85 mph when on the highway, and lead foot all over town. It was still over 1000km on the tank.

Thats about what i used to get with the 5 speed and driving hard. I usually get about 540 to 12.5 gallons now on average. I have gotten as good as 48mpg but I usually average around 40 to 45 driving fast.

I guess I can beat you all. Last year at H2O I got 26 or 28mpg. It was a hot weekend and A LOT of red light launches and just goofing around on coastal hwy.

Wow,
This is funny, everyone is "competing" on how "low" they (we) can get their (our) milage,

And we all went out and purchaced economical cars.
hmmm 26mpg = worst for a tdi..... Still better than most gassers..

My bloody A2 can go as low as 5mpg, (gas pedal pushed through the floorbaord for the whole tankfull!)

Last month my wife and i managed to get only 700 km on a tank. Basically , the tires are begging for a vacation at every stoplight. AC on all of the time

Just thinking..............perhaps I could get down to 600 if I manual shift my tip/5.

Any suggestions??

I got only 30mpg with my passat last week. I did just install nozzles and a chip. I do alot of city driving and have a heavy foot. It is still much better economy than my audi even on it' worst day.

High speed highway cruising really kills it for me.....Running 90+ with the AC on full tilt with a few wide open 70-95 runs.....39-42 mpg......

Roofrack also takes 3 mpg.

Actually the once I went overland with my car (and the only time it did any highway "cruising".

averaging over 110 mph most of the time, I still got over 1000 km on 1 tank.

city driving kills it though!

When my car was stock I was averaging 38-39 mpg. After... Well, I've seen more than one tank under 25mpg. I'm sure it has something to do with the 110+*F ambient temperature and the WOT everywhere I go. I've had tanks over 30mpg since doing the mods, but I just can't seem to make it through a whole tank without having a little fun!!!:D

My worse was 38 mpg, then I changed the fuel filter and it went back to 42-43.

That is one of the most exceptional things about our TDI's over gassers. Even when we play hard, we still get GREAT mpg. With every gasser I ever owned the mpg would plummet like the Titanic hitting an iceberg if I played even a little.

Sure some gassers can get the same mpg as a TDI, if driven gently. But with my TDI I can have a little fun and still get 40 mpg. In any other car, if I drive hard, the mpg just about is cut in 1/2.
