Thom,

I don't know if we've ever compared, but we can certainly look.

Do you have the single wire that goes into the green part of the blue/yellow/green connector? It goes into the back of the head unit???

It goes from the Control module T18b/6 to T20/11.

The wire is yellow/red.

I don't have that one. I believe it is the serial connection that isn't needed on '02 and later.

Maybe 3A0 937 501 A? Why is the repair wire that goes into this fuse holder a 6mm wire, when the picture from flash shows it as 4mm? 000 979 406 is a 6mm repair wire, correct? I'm starting to think this is the right fuse holder (4A0 937 530) and just the wrong wire. I'm going to try 000 979 306.

000 979 407 = 6.3mm wide
000 979 306 = 4.8mm wide

I think you're right, it's the 306, not the 407

Well, I'll try to do the same, just something is different.

I just got a call from a friend and he is selling a 2001 jetta glx power leather seats, front (2) and rear.

Now I have to understand, everything you put here to do it, my car is a 2002 jetta tdi, please if you can tell me parts number then I'll try to follow flash9 procedure, if you can tell me if I have to follow this instructions.

Thanks and hopefully I'll be able to do it correctly.

Now all the time you do this, what about the seats frames.

Slight problem..the 2002 power seat control module will not work with your 2001 car.

The seats will MOVE, but you won't be able to use the memory functions. If you don't care, then proceed as normal.

The seat frames will fit fine.

The seats are from a 2001 jetta glx and mine it's 2002.

Does this means it's not going to work?

Thanks

I agree with Brian, the seats are superior in adjustment ranges so if you're getting a good deal, go for it. Even though you can't use the memory feature, you'll still like the seats.

Down the road, if you find a 2001 Seat memory module at a J-yard, get it and you can wire the memory feature up. The Seat Control Modules are expensive, $300 alone.

That's what I'm doing and it's great good to learn new stuff.

Thanks tongsli
for all your info.

But right now it's very difficult, with 27 inches of snow and very cold.

Hopefully soon.

okay stupid question time. Where is the best place, other then the dealership, to get these connectors/wires (i.e. six pin connector and wiring for the red box under seat connector to the fuse box to activate the power option). I would prefer not to Gerry rig this. My vehicle is also a 2003.

Replacing seats in 2002 Jetta

OUCH! yes, that's the wrong connector end. Look up the fuse holder in the electrical portion of the catalog and find the wires that it can take under the housing part.

I just puchased driver and Passenger power seats for my sons 2002 Jetta that now has manual seats. Can anyone advise me on the correct part nubmers for the connectors and where I can purchase them?
