Thinking of dropping collision and comprehensive on our cars as they are all depreciated enough to not be worth very much and the insurance company is really sticking it to us on comp and collision, especially on the GSW at $479/year with $1,000 deductible (zero deductible on glass). So wondering what folks have paid for a windshield on a 2015 GSW Sport?

2010 JSW TDI silver and black. 2017 Ram Ecodiesel dark red with brown and beige interior.
I've only used insurance once but have noticed that the JSW seems to be a chip magnet. When I got rid of the JSW with about 165k miles, it had four or five minor cracks and chips. My Ram has none at 110k miles. It's made more long-distance trips that the JSW.

Yep I've had 2 new windshields in about 40,000 miles due to rocks. Zero on 4 other vehicles we own.

Windshields are one of those things that are surprisingly inexpensive compared to what I'd expect them to cost.
Like, the little 12" long plastic rain channel trim piece on a Mk4 Golf: $100
Given that, I'd expect a windshield to cost at least $2000 (glass manufacture, transport, etc.).

But I got an OE replacement that included a lane assist camera mount (if you're paying for your own glass, you might want to consider looking at one of those...?) installed for around $750CAD with this current 2015 GSW. Without the mount was maybe $50-75 less, IIRC.
US pricing looks on par with that.

I had an aftermarket windshield installed at a local glass place for a customer, it cost $330 installed

Windshield replacement for a 2015 GSW Sport typically costs between $400 and $600, depending on location, glass type (OEM vs. aftermarket), and whether features like rain sensors or ADAS calibration are required. Some users have reported paying around $424–$460 for basic replacements without calibration.

@wayose What's the deal with quoting someone but adding a link into their post? We don't know what the Bank of Sierra is but you should edit your post or at least make the random part that you added bold so we know that you added that.

I was gonna ask that myself. Seriously - what's the story with this?
It could have happened without wayose's knowledge. On another forum I belong to there were malicious hyperlinks appearing in member's posts without their knowledge. I'm not computer or internet savvy enough to know how they do it but it must involve hacking into someone's account.
