Will VW ever abandon the rotating knob in favour of the tilt handle?

Man, nothing is more outdated and annoying than VW's continued usage of the rotating knob to tilt the passenger seat. Can't those engineers get this fixed? I mean, they were smart enough to move the cup holders on the 2003 that covered the radio controls...

Come on VW....drop the knob !

i like the dial because with the lever you get like 10 settings that are locked into. with the knob you have unlimited settings.

The lever in the new golf adjusts the seat via an infinitely adjustable electric motor.

A pleasant surprise!

My '09 Jetta had an electric adjust for the tilt function. My '10 Golf has knobs. It doesn't bother me. How often is it necessary to adjust the tilt more than a few degrees at a time?

Only 'knob' on mine is for the lumbar support, all other settings are switches/levers (both seats). Seat rake is electrically controlled.

My Theory on the knob was that the Germans didn't want people to pull a lever and not be able to control a car as the seat back dropped to horizontal.

I'm sad to see the knob go away. It make it much easier and safer to make a small adjustment to the seatback while driving (which I will do several times on a long multi hour drive).

Outdated, really? It's a much better system that a lever. Knob gives you infinite adjustment, lever has a tooth/notch that must mesh so you only get so many possible adjustments.

I've driven cars that piss me off because I find the seat comfortable right in between two notches.
