First time Deisel owner, and was just wondering if there would be any issues if I don't drive the car everyday? Have a company car, and don't always go out after work. Have about 1700kms on it, and have driven it hard to speed up the break in process. Have been very happy with the performance so far, but just don't want to create any issues by using sparingly.

No problem at all. I would say that if you get one day a week, getting up to full operating temperature plus maybe 20 minutes a week it should be fine. Not much if any difference between a diesel and a gasser in his regard.

I don't think the engine is finicky - only thing the could be considered finicky is the HPFP.

I don't drive my car every day either - wish I could - but I pretty much do what Joe_Meehan suggested.

The key with diesels is not so much how often you drive it as HOW you drive it. A lot of short trips is not good for it. As long as it is brought up to full operating temps when driven and not driven like grandma you'll be fine.
