I'm looking for a set of steel rims for use in the winter. My 98 jetta has 14" now that I'm happy to run in the summer.
I have a set of 4 very good snows but there 15" tires , so my question is; Does anybody out there have a set of 4 15" rims that will fit ?

I would also consider buying a set of 14" steel rims and snows if they are avalible.

I'm a new owner of a TDI , but not a stranger to diesels as I have been a happy owner of a dodge /cummins diesel for many yrs.

Offset and hub diameter have to be correct, too. But anything suitable for a 4-bolt front-drive VW will work. I have 15" aftermarket alloy wheels for mine.

I believe that 4-cylinder Corrado models came with 15" steel wheels with the 4-bolt pattern.

OK thanks for the info

If anyone has a set that they think will fit , I'd like to hear from you.
15" is preferrred, but I would consider 14" rims.

What size are the 15" tires? I'm willing to bet unless they're an oddball size they will be too tall for the car. At the very least they will be taller than the originals and will throw the speedometer and odometer off.
IMHO, you're better off going smaller in rim diameter for snow tires. I think the taller sidewall is a benefit in snowy conditions. Plus, it gives more of a cushion on the rotten frost heaves.

None.
My summer tires are 195/60/15 and the extra diameter actually corrected both the speedometer and odometer ...

my summer tires are the same as Weasels....my calculations show the speedo dead on but the odo to by shy 2miles for every 50 traveled.

I just ck the size of the 15" tires and they are bigger .
I guess I'll stick to the 14" wheels for my winter rubber

Thanks for your thoughts

I run 195/55vr15's in the summer, 195/60r14's in the winter, both on alloy although I think the steel rims that were on it originally weighed less then the 14" GT alloys I use for winter now.
