Why didn't VW take this into consideration

With more and more stations going to B11 and higher. Why didn't VW take that into consideration and give us the option to be able to fuel up with B11? Was just thinking about this and something we can ponder about, thats all:D

VW is limited to doing EPA certification on fuels that meet certain recognized standards. At the time that VW did the EPA certification on this engine, there was only an ANSI standard for B5 maximum.

I'll catch heck for this, but I've been running mostly B11 for the past 3k miles. No ill effects, though I'll be doing a UOA to double check the oil soon!

Honestly, with my conservative 7.5k oil changes, I don't think I'll find much. I'm still getting a tank or two of dino here and there.
