I haven't discussed anything with Jeff yet, but I'd like to see if we can persuade him to come out west with a "group buy" type arrangement. That is, if we can commit to (as a group) buying "x" number of RocketChip conversions, would he come out and do them in person, along with any associated tweaking? I'd like to have a general number before I approach him.

I'll count myself, so that means we have one so far.

Who else is in?

Depends on where it would be, but I've got an '05 Passat that needs his magic. Plus it would just be great to meet him. I could really only manage it within a few hours of the Denver area.

I already have RC II, but I would drive quite a ways to have him do the Euro program and install the injectors, too. (Come to think of it, does he do an injector install, too, or just chipping?)

Having said "quite a ways", though, realize I'm near Seattle and probably wouldn't go any further than the middle of Oregon.

Well, I'd obviously like to keep it as close to Phoenix as possible (where I'm at), but I'd be willing to drive up to a full day's drive away (about 10-11 hours max).

That could put me anywhere in:

[*]Southern California (up to about halfway between Bakersfield and San Jose)

I'm willing to bend a bit, but I'd like it to keep it close to these areas.

How about the rest of you guys? Where are you and how far are you willing to go?

If the price and distance were right I would do it I live In northern CA, so the NV or CA location might work for me.

We could make it a chip'n nozzle session at my place. I think we might be able to convince him to come out if there were enough committments. It's been awhile since the last GTG at my place.

While I'd love to spend the money, I can't justify it with a TB needed here shortly. But for a GTG, I'd make the 7 hour drive north...

If for no other reason than to borrow some tools for a couple hours, have a watchful eye and try to help some others learn about the process. I can also bring beer... (I brew as a hobby, have never had anyone turn down a second glass and most beg to come back for more..

)

I would be interested. I know it was a long time away but I was going to work on a TDI Fest proposal for Colorado, the Vail area. I was going to try and get some perks for vendors who showed up. At least free lodging. But either way I would be interested depending where at.

Depending on where and when, I might be in. I was just thinking I should take the plunge and start with some sprint520s, but with Jeff and Kerma I may have to throw caution to the wind.

I'm interested and would drive to Nevada or So. Cal. If Kerma hosts it, then I'll definitely drive there. Maybe then I can convince him in person to put some PD nozzles in my car at the same time...

Yes, definite interest here. If this is schedule I may consider buying a 11mm injection pump to go with Stage III...

I'd prefer a one day (600 miles or less) drive if possible.

I'd drive to SLC (Kerma hosted GTG)... the questions becomes which car do I drive??? The B4 that I'm aching to get a vnt17 euro conversion on (big project), or the B5.5... decisions decisions.

Sounds like a capital idea, Charlie. I'm definitely in the market for some Sprint 520s, too.

Just gotta wait another few paychecks.

I'd definitely drive up to SLC (a bit past an easy 1-day drive but I can make the trek for a good cause).

I count about 9 or 10 people who either didn't list any restriction in how far they'd drive or reacted positively to Salt Lake City. I'll start a thread with a poll, so we can get some definite yea/nays.

I'd be interested if he was able to come out to Southern California or within 4 hours driving time from here. I can't give a definate yes until I get a definate time/place.

It will be entirely up to Jeff to determine if such a GTG will happen. I can nozzle anytime.

I'd love to see an RC GTG somewhere out here, but a weekend in SLC isn't doable for me right now as I don't have alot of spare weekend time time (work on weekends) and the 11+ hour one way drive to SLC doesn't make that possible.

Count me in if it were to be Southern California or S.F. bay area. I was looking at the Rocket Chip #2 as I am converting to the grease car WVO kit and need a little PUNCH to the TDI. =)

I'm interested as well...I was about to send my ECU out (bought a used replacement to minimize down time), but I'd really love to meet Jeff and see him do the tuning in person. Rez311, I'm planning on installing the Elsbett kit. I just got it about 2 weeks ago, but I'm waiting for the workshop to install it. I'm good for a 4 hour distance from Southern California...for some reason, Las Vegas sounds like a fun place to meet.

How much do you charge to install an RCII? I own a 2003 Jetta TDI and live near SLC.

I'd be up for chipping ... Las Vegas, Los Angeles, either would work for me... LAa Vegas seems most central for Arizona, Southern CA, even Utah, for a days drive for most of us.

How many would do Las Vegas? I wonder if Jeff would like to see LV too?
