Well, there's a least one in France: I have VAG-COM, VW-tool, Uwe's cable of course, and a compaq laptop (soon two). I'm in Angers, Maine et Loire. If any frenchman in need of help is reading this, I'll be glad to help him (or her, with even more pleasure
Vag com and Bently cd on their way. Laptop also on the way, should be good to go in a week or so. Located 10 miles north of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada- East Central Sask.
GPS N51d 23.128' W102d 24.527' (shop) House is across the road.
I just received Uwe's VAG-COM cable and software. I loaded it last night and fully activated the software. I have a Bentley CD for my 98 NB coming. Email me for a response. I am located in Milford, Ma. if I can be of some help.
Add me to the list. I just ordered the cable from Uwe Ross. I expect I will get it this week, and anyone who needs to use it for diagnostic work in central Minnesota should contact me. I live in St. Cloud, and work in Minneapolis.

FYI: got a note from Uwe, that a new beta release of VAG-com is due about the end of the month. Here is his reply to a note on the e-groups list..

Although this is obviously one of the "major" VAG-Tool functions, there
hasn't been much call for it, and it is not implemented yet.
I've looked at what's necessary to do it, and it appears pretty
straightforward. However, I don't think it will make it into the new Beta
Release scheduled for the end of this month. This Beta will have
Data/Measuring Blocks, Basic Settings, and Adaptation. These functions
(which everyone has been clamoring for) were the "hump" in developing the
VAG-COM software. Interpreting the raw data that the ECU sends into
something meaningful to present to the user was a real nightmare.
I think this is a conservative schedule, in other words, one I can easily
meet. I'm really hoping to have a Output Tests done in November, and a
non-Beta "1.0" release ready by the end of the year.
Plans for the 1.0 are that it will include data-logging (in a format you can
bring right into Excel so you can make your own graphs), but it probably
won't graph data in real-time or do the "00 Scan" / Auto Test.
Andy's adaptor works well, and is a little cheaper for us Brits. It is however just a bare circuit board, and you have to make up the cables yourself (you can just buy the RS-232 one) and put in a box.
Andy actually sells an unpopulated PCB so that you can make the adaptor yourself. I have the ability but no the time anymore. The adaptor is optically isolated like Uwe's.
Of course by buying the adaptor seperately from the software you don't get the same level of support if thinks don't work.
Add one more to the list:
