Please contact me if you live in the MA area and can help me out with a VAG-COM. I just replaced the throttle body & accelerator pedal position & need to have a relearn in order for it to work! PLEASE HELP if possible
Yes its a gas engine 2003 Jetta GL 2.0 standard. I have done the DIY manual steps (didn't work) I was told without the reprogramming with a VAG-COM the pedal will not communicate with the throttle body to make it accelerate. I am getting codes P2138 & P2128 and have done everything except to use the VAG-COM.I gather you are talking about a gas engine? On the Diesel engine the ECU doesn't need to be taught, at least in my experience, although there is a procedure you can use to make sure the ECU understands the full range...don't recall the exact steps but it involves leaving the key in the ON position and cycling the pedal thru the range. Google might track it down.
