Has anyone installed the Whitbread CP4 Metering Valve Bypass?

https://whitbreadperformance.com/pr...ering-valve-bypass-kit?variant=44741025923231

I bought a 2012 Golf TDI about a month ago. Obviously no warranty of any sort left. Based on the CarFax it also looks like the CP4 fuel pump in it was never replaced even when it was under warranty, so, knock on wood, it's the original one. The car has 160,000 miles on the clock. And I just did my first fuel filter change. Wasn't sure what I saw was metal flakes or just bubbles, maybe I'm being paranoid. Regadless, from what I understand about the infamous CP4 pump, it's kind of a matter of when rather than IF it ever fails. So I'm considering the Whitbread device above as a means of isolating any possible future damage to the fuel pump, so I don't have to replace the entire fuel delivery system.

So the short of it - is the whitbread kit worth it? How hard was it to install? Has it saved anyone's fuel system yet?

thanks!

Got one! Should be here next week. Now I just have to hope that between now and then the planets don't misalign just so as to cause the HPFP to throw in the towel. Finger crossed / knock on wood.
