My '13 Passat DSG with a Kerma tune get a lot better fuel economy than either my previous 2002 Jetta wagon 5 speed manual or my 2011 Jetta wagon 6 speed manual. This is over many thousands of miles of experience and closely monitoring fuel consumption. My '05 Passat (B5.5) with slushbox was the worst by far, normally low to mid 40s tank to tank, althoughdid 4 runs back and forth to Oregon coast over 300 miles each way on country roads and got 49.9 mpg on the display each time, hand calculation was within 0.2 mpg. In my '13 driving the same way on the same trip I would be over 60 mpg for the trip no question.

52.7 yesterday on an 825 mile drive at 75 MPH in my ALH Wagon. A/C on about a third of the time. Seems pretty good.
