shoulda thought of this earlier...

arguably in poet's defense and the NE commitee the better ones are selected for the other poll, but just so others feel they have a choice... here are a select 9 from the group of 25+ image varations I went through...

well teh kids aren't back here at the university, and I'm just sorting through stuff lately... and the logo designing happened to co-incide with a period of time I had long required office hours with many but infrequent requests for help....

time? its all realtive to an individuals rate of production /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ian,

you can ALWAYS vote and participate here - ALWAYS - as far as I'm concerned you are a lifer here... just cause you are temporarily 'sans' TDI doesn't mean you don't have a voice or a vote! Heck I'm hoping to see you at the TDI Fest this year! You'll be there right? (give you an excuse to get out of Maine during the tourists last hurrah) /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Including "New England" on the logos doesn't do much of anything for me....OTOH, I would like to see "diesel" incorporated into a logo somehow (option #11? ^_^).

no vote, but leaning toward last one

statement retracted... it was a reactionary statement that had very little to do with actual events.

my apologies.

'poet...

one thing I learned from doing the Fest, was even as early as we started it still wasn't early enough in some cases...

As I've said and as I hope people have read elsewhere, letting everyone know what is going on is nice. Knowing the list of folks involved gives me some confidence that this will be a good fest and a well planned one...

BUT yall still kinda NEED to post an update at least once a month if not more often. Keep the Club public informed. The sooner you start advertising (even here in the club) about the fest, the more awareness created the better. We've got LOADS of members, the more that register and show up the better the fest. IF ya don't constantly talk about it folks forget and then they forget to make plans or forget to mark the calender until its too late.

just MPOV

This is getting out of hand.

I, for one, would like to apologize for the lack of updates. It doesn't imply a lack of commitment or activity on our part, it just hadn't occurred to us to keep the forum updated on every little thing until we were ready to start taking registration money. We're very nearly at that point now, but we don't want false information running around.

So if we've been silent up until now, I apologize. It's frustrating that there is some negative sentiment about this, because such a thing did not even occur to us. We're just trying to organize the best fest possible and will continue to do so. We'll make certain to keep everyone up-to-date in the future, and if anyone has any questions, please - ask them! That's what this forum is for.

Tom, we'd hate to not have you there this year, so I truly hope that's not the case.

it wasn't your post, it was the buildup of multiple posts.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not to belabor any annoyance, but what "build-up"?

At the point you posted this in the thread, a total of me and 2 other guys had replied to Willi's alt-logo thread....now there are maybe 7 counting you? Even this hardly constitutes a build-up and as to the rancor, hmmmmmmm, I musta missed something that was 'edited' out....no matter, as I see it, it's gotta be much ado about nothin' --- good god, man!! it is January and under 10 degrees (F) outside!! (or is that "10 f-ing degrees outside"?) ^_^

Advance planning is good though.....still, the fest is so far down the road, it's no time to get your knickers in a twist?

I'm wondering....when does the coommmmiitttteeee feel most people are going to nail down their plans? I certainly expect to make the loooooooong trek from Connecticut /images/graemlins/grin.gif but me n Jake will hardly give it a second thought till late spring at the earliest.

Chillin' in CT,

T

PS --- with his artistic license I let Willie slide and didn't mention his blatant oversight of a Jetta silhouette /images/graemlins/shocked.gif /images/graemlins/smirk.gif /images/graemlins/wink.gif

you're right. it was perceived that way to me, not really rationally. mostly due to nonrelated events. which is why i've pulled my original post and apologized. hey, it's one degree outside, us new englanders are getting cranky. /images/graemlins/wink.gif i just want to forgot it and leave it in the past, at this point.

hotel registration info is now up, and full details + registration will follow very shortly, about a week or so. there are just a few more details that we need to nail down to make sure we don't have to go back and change the registration on you folks after the fact.

as far as the car silhouttes, i don't see a passat silhoutte, either. c'mon, geoff, what gives. (notice that geoff drives a golf, anybody?)

HEY at least I put a New Beetle profile there...

Besides what other car profile is as distinctive as a Golf or New Beetle? Two current cars that are Distinctly VW!
