I have to disagree with this. Most were already made in Mexico well before that year.
And tditom: the reason it matters is quality. It is believed that the Made in Germany models (eg. 2-door Golf) have less issues than Made in Mexico models (eg. Jetta)
Correct, my '03 sedan is Mexico built (VIN number starts with 3VW), where as the '03 wagon is German built (VIN number starts with WVW).I think the sedans were mexi/Brazilian built while the wagons were German built.
what problems are those? My Golf was assembled in Brazil, I have no electrical problems. My only problem is roasting tires in three gears, but that is self inflicted ;-)So do the German assembled cars have the same electrical bugs that seem the show up in the Mexico/Brazilian assembled cars?
I said *cough* It is believED. I.E. people believe. I did not say *I* believe. So, disagree all you want.I have to disagree with this.

I'm thinking that there was somewhere... when I look up parts specific to my model year, several sites (rockauto for one), show the ALH as an option. Haven't ever seen one show up around here, but I wouldn't bet against it existing.Wasn't 2004 a transition year for the PD, were any ALH made in the first half?
