Where to mount Scan Guage II

Yeah,that's how it looks. I need to leave the port somewhat accessible though,for the yearly state inspections when they plug into the obd port-looks pretty crappy if I need to leave that big cover off-I like the Jetta's obd port location better(A3)....

Maaaaan! Santa claus is getting me a scangauge 2 and I'd love to mount it like that, and have my switches for my amp and intercooler water sprayer in there, I have a piece Of wood in that place, my question is what do you have to do to mount it like that? Do you just cut the rectangular shape? How do you keep it from sliding?

Has anyone looked at the Garmin Nuvi ecoRoute HD Vehicle Diagnostics Communicator HD??? It claims it can do pretty much everything the ScanGaugeII can do.

Doesn't seem to be as expansive as SG II, but interface is much easier, provided you have a compatible Nuvi bluetooth unit.

Found this today...not sure if it works on VW mirrors but looks pretty good.
