Okay, it's for a B3 and it's a long shot, but the Vortex has been no help, so here goes...
My radiator fan tests fine when I connect it directly to the battery (both speeds work), but when I "jump" the thermoswitch connector to start the fan, the high speed blows the jumper fuse. The only thing I can think of is the control unit - BUT, I can't find one in my car! It's a B3 TurboDiesel without air conditioning. I've looked everywhere in the engine compartment, the relay panels, under the dash. Maybe my car doesn't have one.
Does anyone know what they look like, and where they are located? The generic (VR6, 16valve) B3 wiring diagram shows one in the engine compartment. Any help appreciated...
