Okay folks, I've looked all over the place (except for the dealer of course) for a new bumper. I have a 2010 JSW and am thinking about getting a Westfalia hitch. The exiting bumper had some deep gouges on one side and so I don't think it can be repaired. I figured I buy a new one, cut the opening for the hitch have it sprayed and mount it in a weekend. Any help would be appreciated.

dweisel isn't diesel anymore!
Do a search on car-parts.com You may even be able to find one the same color as your car and save on the repaint cost. I'd do a test cut on your existing bumper to make sure you get it right.

Dunno about the new cars but for the 4th gen the bumper is about $75 cheaper from the dealer than the local yards here.

Don't imagine too many 2010 in the yards.

I believe a new OE VW bumper skin is in the neighborhood of $125 (don't ask me how I know this... ), but I couldn't help you out on the source. Give the dealer a shot, they may be reasonable. (I'm surprised that their prices are the best for oil and filters for these CR TDI's!)

According to the keffervwparts site, the MSRP on an unpainted rear bumper cover is $185. The Vortex discount is 27%. Don't know how much shipping would eat that, plus you'd have to get it painted. His main site is down but there's an alternate site. This is his thread:

I've bought stuff from Paul before. Never any problems.
