You need to go to the Dieselgate forum and read there. From what I've read they are out there and going fast at sticker - $5,000.

Does anyone really fix tdi automatic transmissions? Had a "professional " do mine over a year ago, car still does not work correctly. 05 Passat 2.0 with only 170K. This car has many years of life left in it, no rust! I need real mechanic. 33O 635 7788 help

One guy mentioned a tdi- 4 Motion swap. Who can do it? How much? I'm at a loss. I'm upside down on this car, but I still don't want to give up. Love the little station wagon.

That transmission might have been one of the worst. I believe it had torque converter failure more than transmission.

You have to check around at the various dealers. They are allowed to sell them with the first of a two part fix. I just bought a 2015 tdi golf sportwagen at 5K off sticker. You buy the car now and in about a year they have you come back in for a larger NIOX converter install. Local dealer here had about 27 of them and they are going out the door pretty fast.
