Hi all -

I'd like to go ahead and order a 20k service kit, which includes a fuel filter, for our 2012 JSW. ID Parts has two options - i need to match up the filter style. Unfortunately, the car is in the body shop for the week so i can't check it, but i need to place the order ASAP so i can get wiper blades for its return to us.

Does anyone know when the design changed? My 2010 Golf has the older style - don't know if it had changed by 2012. Could someone with a 2012 TDI take a look and see what filter style they have?

Thanks!

Whom ever you buy the filter from, they should be able to provide the correct filter if you give them your VIN. Don't even bother with your local parts houses. Go to a dealer or one of the trusted OEM venders such as ID Parts ot Bora Parts.

Also stay away from Amazon and E-Bay unless you want to put garbage Chinese parts on your car.

You could email the body shop with the pics of the two filter types and they could identify which one to order.

The change was in early 2010. My 10 JSW had the old style fuel filter with the built in water separator. my buddy's 10 JSW that was a mid year car has the newer style.

Not to derail the thread, but the part I don't understand is that my '06 BRM has the new style filter, but my '10 JSW has the old style filter??? Talk about a step backwards.
