It's an overkill kit. For example, we have seen oil pumps go 500k without any appreciable wear. Why replace a perfectly good part? The upgrade BRM sprocket kit is one of our better ideas. It volumes the oil at idle as if the engine were running 1200 rpm with the OEM gearing.
The rod bearings, if the correct ones are in the kit, are sputtered bearings for a PD with no tangs, but the Rosten Rods are conventionally made, with tangs. The ALH rod bearings will work. That is probably what is in that kit. The ALH rod bearings are cheaper, but we do like the advantages of the sputtered bearings and would suggest their use.
You can place the BRM/BEW sputtered bearings into the h-beam rods. Just pay attention to location, side-to-side with the bearing shells.
For those who worry about using tang-less bearings in a tanged rod, the tang is there for location only. The bearing is held in position by the crush of the bearing shells. So, the diameter of the rod bore is very critical.
