Okay, so I've used High Mileage Full Synthetic Motor Oil 5W-30 but I was told by my dealer for my VIN # I should use 0W-30 Full Synthetic. What does everyone use and brand? Just trying to put the best in that I can for my 2015 VW Passat TDI SEL.

Any 507 spec oil will be just fine. 5w30 or 0w30. Sounds like that may not be what you've been using.

Assuming emissions are intact Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 was the only oil I could source locally. There are other options but at least for me they had to be ordered online. The dealer oil is indeed 0w30 but I always ran 5w30

M1 ESP is what i use as it's the easiest to comeby. I used to run ESP 0W40 as it meets the MB spec and I think NAPA was blowing out stock for cheap.

0W30 or 5W30 is all the same in my book.
