I keep seeing peoples signature with this mod listed. What is it?
See the "How to's section". It allows more fuel to be added when topping off.

oldskool, the tank is the same one they put in the gasser and it comes with a "vented expansion" area in the top of the tank for all the vapours to collect in, diesel fuel doesn't do that so if you remove the vent tab you can fill that area with fuel. The tab is designed to be depressed when you put your cap back on. IIRC you can put in another gallon or two giving you another 100 miles of range.

I just use the end of the nozzle to depress the vent button, takes the same amount of time as a ventectomy to fill and I still have the vent in place.

I have never heard of anyone regretting doing the ventectomy. And it so totally not the same thing.

If you have ever used the vent, remove the vent. You will be more satisfied with the the venting procedure than ever before.

You don't understand, I depress the vent button WHILE filling. It vents as it fills, I just listen to it come up the filler pipe. Then I hold the vent button in while I top it off. Takes the same amount of time to fill as a ventectomy and i have yet to spill a drop.

Yes, I did that for years, I wish I had done the ventectomy sooner.

Yes, I used to vent too, I wish I had done the ventectomy sooner. I never pushed the button while filling before the vent engaged, that isn't nescessary... but I guess if you like holding your nozzel with both hands that is up to you.
