Well, you may be stuck with the 1998 model or maybe 1Z.

Idparts lists about three options for the ALH and has nothing listed for an AHU engine. So, I am assuming if the injection pumps were the same they would be listed in both categories. I suspect the difference is with the electrical connection. The AHU uses an entirely different ECU than the ALH.

Give 'em time ....... others will chime-in!

Ahu or 1z are the only ones that swap right over. You can make the alh ones work with some machine work and maybe an electrical connection or two. What is wrong with yours?
I have a 1998 Jetta AHU. I need an injection pump, Which pumps swap over. Will an AHL pump work?

Pretty sure seal behind pulley is leaking. Car still runs great. What Years and which vehicles have 1Zs?

1z is 1996-1997 Passat TDI, ahu is 1997-1999.5 Jetta TDI.
You may check Frans, I think in Europe they had some that may have used the same pump.

Great news!. Not seal behind Pulley. The diamond shaped plate on back side of the pump has a drip. Anyone know what size Tourx bit it is and where to get gasket?

Here is the seal kit for the pump. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/vw-fuel-injection-pump-seal-kit-bosch-2467010003000 It's probably the top seals, which you'll need a t30 torx and the special triangle socket to do. You'll also need vcds for setting the IQ. There's a nice write-up for that somewhere around here. The back seal is even harder to do, though not impossible. It's best to do on a workbench though, as it would be really hard to keep from dropping the shims. It's hard enough on the bench. I just did my first, and it slipped down... Well, you live and learn.

I have that kit but do not see the gasket for that back plate. It is almost a diamond shape but instead of points the ends are rounded I guess you could say oval shaped with two torx bolts. I will try to get a pic of it. When I say back of the pump if you are looking at pump towad the block.

Yeah, I know which part that is. Not sure what it's called.
Are you sure that's where the fuel is coming from? Often it'll run down from the top and drip off of that piece.
