What halogen bulbs are you using?

I don't know about you guys but my 11 jetta goes through headlight bulbs a pair every 2 months. Silverstar are the cheapest bulbs ever! I've even emailed Sylvania and they sent me a free set. But they have already went out.... I've tried Philips crystal vision ultras and they also lasted maybe 3 months. So, *** are you guys running?

I gave up on the "extra bright" bulbs....if you check their specs, they claim a life of as little as 500-800 hours....
I get standard halogens on rockauto, name brand , about $3-4 each. Honestly, hard to tell the difference, and much better than having to keep a spare in the glovebox for the burnouts that happen monthly, and usually in the rain on a long trip....

To get a bulb "brighter" but meet the same SAE spec to be street legal, they run a shorter filament hotter to get more light...net result is a shorter life for the super bright bulbs...

Yeah I'm sick and tired of replacing dam bulbs every 2 months.....and every dam auto part store only carries Sylvania Stupid Stars! So Im just trying to find something to put in there before VW buys this car back in next few months.

Silverstars do burn brighter, but at the cost of burning out more quickly. I prefer them in winter when it's dark and just use my LED city lights in summer. Your latitude may differ.

I have LED city lights from VLED..I've had no issues with them for 4yrs with no issues...but they are no way bright enough to be used as my headlights. Besides that, when your city / daytime lights are on , your taillights are not on. Silver stupid stars are terrible ! They don't last any longer then 3 months.

I recommend the OSRAM rallye 65 watt also. My last set lasted about two years. Nice and bright.
