Well if Im not mistaken, I think thats where they snip your fallopian tubes so your shooting blanksCould someone explain what a ventectomy is ?
Where did you get your bug deflector? I don't see them for sale anymore. That was a great setup. Coilovers with 700 lb front springs and 450 lb. rears, Motegi Traklites with Hoosier slicks, rear seat and spare out, Braille 12 lb battery. I had it corner balanced (as best as one can corner balance a Jetta Wagon). It weighed 2860 lbs and cornered absolutely flat. The Motegis with Hoosiers weighed 32 lbs. each. I calculated the tires lasted 12 hours of track time.
Currently replacing my clutch and decided to perform the 5th gear oil hole mod. May have been unnecessary but trans was out so why not..
What I found out was its super easy, and the location shown gives great access from the top shift tower (once removed) as well as from the oil fill port. For getting any chips cleaned out, which I had almost none. So if your slow drilling and use a vacuum as you drill, I'd say the worry from aluminum chips remaining in the transmission is, in my experience, not a worry at all.
Well I can't remember or figure how to post pictures anymore! Where's the info?
Sounds like a toxic relationship with a stripper... a high mileage stripperWent outside. Looked at it. Cursed at it. Moisture fills the inside. Whispered to her softly "you're going to the junkyard soon sweety" the only reason I keep it is the fuel economy.
Dont know about the subframe. I replaced the entire front end, bearings, rotors, control arms, shocks rubber front strut mounts tie rods in my 2003 Jetta. it had to be done . Still after a year it sounds like the front end was gonna fall off. Praire Poo a Forum member who usually speaks in tongues asked if I had checked the strut bearings? I thought he was joking. Sure nuff there is strut bearings. Had those replaced with new rubber mounts again and no front end noise ! Its a beautiful thing .I keep hearing noises in the suspension. Is the subframe mount hard to change?
Unrelated, my kid's 2010 Benz is in limp mode, is there any good tuners? Burpod?
I got new A-arms (cheap);tie rods and new strut kit from Sachs. I hope they tightened it up, only the cap has was loose. Funny though, both strut caps were loose after a bit of driving and have been retightened. Seems to be a bit of gap under the cap.Dont know about the subframe. Thanks for the chuckle. It was a hearty one. You described the golf perfectly. 240k no interior. Debating parting it out or just keeping the engine and trans for a caddy swap next year.Sounds like a toxic relationship with a stripper... a high mileage stripper
Nah, run her til it rusts to bits. Then yank the drive train. No sense parting a good running MK4 unnecessarily. Thanks for the chuckle. It was a hearty one. You described the golf perfectly. 240k no interior. Debating parting it out or just keeping the engine and trans for a caddy swap next year.
@GlowBugTDI?Dose anyone know what jeep the suspension is best for a mk4 jetta tdi
Depends how much lift you want. How much are you looking for?Dose anyone know what jeep the suspension is best for a mk4 jetta tdi
I know [USER=581561]@The Cream Dolphin brother did the jeep lift I believe. If you have Facebook there is a lifted watercooled page that apparently has good info.Depends how much lift you want. How much are you looking for?
~ 6" lift build.
No direct experience but this looks to be a nice lift kit:Dose anyone know what jeep the suspension is best for a mk4 jetta tdi

VW High Life Suspension Lift Kit for VW Jetta Wagon MK4 Golf MKIV 1999-2006 | eBay
These suspension kits will fit only the following VW MK4 models No install instructions included for the suspension, only for the spacer kit. Top of the line VW Lift Kit, no drilling, no welding, no cutting required.www.ebay.com
That’s expensive but is pretty good for a suspension refresh plus liftHoly. Looks great, price... not so much.
I could buy a tdi parts car for that.
There are a lot of options out there, just depends how much of a lift is wanted.
My old 2" lift cost ~$30, but to most probably is considered slightly unprofessional.
True, I'm probably just too cheap. I've never spent more than 350$ on a suspension refresh. Truthfully the bug needs new springs (bilsteins HD's still doing great) all around as well as rear bushings, but eh tire wear it still perfect. That’s expensive but is pretty good for a suspension refresh plus lift
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it lol. Your dollar is better down there so you still pay less. I’ll be posting an update on my TDI soon as a lot has happened with it. Did you get the bilsteins used?True, I'm probably just too cheap. I've never spent more than 350$ on a suspension refresh. I'll look forward to it!If it ain’t broke don’t fix it lol. Your dollar is better down there so you still pay less. I’ll be posting an update on my TDI soon as a lot has happened with it. Did you get the bilsteins used?
I’m so excited to get my ALH back. I like the BRM but I miss the power.I'll look forward to it!
Yes, forum member out of cali used them for a summer and decided they were two stiff. I think they ride great, but my springs cause horrible body roll, and the rear beam bushings don't help. Wifes wagon is much better, but is slow. Can't ever win.
I think it’s a good kit, I’m just trying to decide if I want a lift or not. We are waiting to close on a 17 acre piece of raw land in Texas so leaning toward lifting or just buying a work truck for it.That’s expensive but is pretty good for a suspension refresh plus lift
