That guy with the goats
And work in an air conditioned shop.Sounds like you need to wear plastic pants as well as gloves
After the second shower, I ended up scraping up my back with kitty litter (because I literally only had kitty litter and not the proper oil absorbent crap on hand), along with residual oil, redline lightweight shockproof I had to pull out (when I took both flanges off), and dirt.
So my girlfriend needed to help me clean my back and the areas I couldn't reach. Yeah, I looked like I was homeless. We're expecting a lot of rain today, so I'm going to put some work clothes back on, pull the wheel/axle on the passenger side, reattach my right side flange, and start reassembling things. Need to torque down the dogbone mount bolts. I decided I'll install the battery last, just to remind myself that there aren't any fluids in the car (oil and gear oil). The ultra black RTV states it needs 24 hours to cure. Given how the previous gasket was compromised and some of that s#it ended up in the oil pickup filter, I'd rather let it cure and then add oil later (or tomorrow).
Oh, and I did something else yesterday. Wasn't sure if I was over or underfilled on my AC for DSOL. Coincidentally, I got my Chinese garbage line/gauge set from Amazon. I honestly just needed some fittings and a can tap and it was cheap. Now I see why; it's going back and I'll pick up something higher quality.
Anyways, my AC guy was here to work on my mother's AC next door. Picked his brain some. Ended up letting out some refrigerant while the car was running; idle AC was around 43, and the vent was blowing at 62. I saw references here on tdiclub to use blower mode 2, so I went with that.
Anyways, I drained enough out to get down to about 29.8-30 at idle. I also got that crap on my hands, some that floated onto the car, etc. The worst is getting a face full of it at the junkyard! Anyways... first pic is the temp I got at idle.

Second is revved up, still stationary. Somewhere between 1500 and 2200. I'm VERY happy with these temps. Previously, it was getting down to like the 50s. It was cold, but not as cold as DSEL.

Last thing I did - flushed and bled the brake system. Figured I'm already there, might as well, since I wanted to flush out the slave cylinder. By the looks of it, I don't think ANYONE has EVER flushed it out. OF course, that wouldn't be a shocker.
