Put on an EGR delete from IDparts on the 2000 Golf and forgot where I put my 1' PEX fittings, and then found them at the tail end of the night. So no more EGR/cooler (the cooler apparently is worth more than the block off plates, anyways). Also replaced vacuum lines, as the old ones were leaking or non-existant in some cases.
Then I tried to troubleshoot an injection pump I resealed. I'm pretty sure I royally f**ked it up. I forgot about setting it "on cam", and was sloppy and forgot to make sure the quantity adjuster lobe was on the ring in the pump. Well, I got the car to run (this is on my Ute), but now I see what a runaway diesel (due to fuel) can do. Thankfully, I had it ready in 5th gear, and that got the engine to stop when i needed it to. Hammer modding didn't work, so I'm worried the shim fell out of the pump. Swapped pumps in 90 minutes (and found the cam and crank were slightly out of time with each other, anyways - someone else who I won't name did the TB on this car), and then realized the damn pump I put on came from the 2000 Beetle I bought, that was 180 degrees out of tiem (and apparently isn't able to prime). So if I have time tonight, I'll swap it again with another 11mm pump I have. Thought this one was an 11mm by the part number, but it's probably a 10mm. I could reseal it, but nah - I'd rather an 11mm on this car (and I have one left, unless I find more at the junkyard tonight).
