1999 with the 2.7 liter. 4x4; extended cab and all that jazz!
I'll post photos later.

So when are you going to dump an ALH or BHW in it? Nice looking truck.
It's a low mile truck and runs good, so I'll probably flip it as it is. Some day, I'll do a TDI swap into a 4x4. Currently working on one in my early westy rabbit pickup.

Sorry to hear about your Golf & the deer

My search shows they're wanting $1095 for the used 2 wheel dollies? Maybe my "deal-o-meter" is out of alignment, but that seems a little high for a used (most likely well used and abused) dolly.
They do, but the dealer told me that you can "negotiate" and the lowest U-Haul will go is $995. The dealer told me they make the same commission regardless of what they sell it for.

And the price didn't seem that bad to me. Used tow dollys seem to be in the $1000-1600 range here in south Central Texas. Plus I feel like the U-Haul models are both overbuilt and simple to use.

@pkhoury ,
Sounds reasonable to me, 'course it depends on how many vehicles yer gonna' move. Sounds like you
've made a good start on a fleet. Lotsa' sheds there? ;)
Sadly, no. Everything's exposed, though the Ute project was in one of my pole barns, and my chickens would take turn laying eggs in either of the front seat footwells. At this point, the goal is to fix and flip the Beetles, and rebuild the Golf.

Well the Amish round here make greenhouses out of half hoops of gal pipe and cover them in plastic. Use some tarp/tent
material to keep the UV off the paint. Wind and dust is probably more likely than rain your neck of the woods.
Worthwhile getting 'em, and you, out of the sun. Or, depending on budget, do some steel buildings. The Aussies do
shearing sheds and the like with metal.

I won't be able to install this for another month or so, but I finally ordered a Webasto coolant heater. I had been putting this off for the longest time, but then I discovered that the ThermoTop C model had been discontinued. While one of the other models may have worked, the harness and accessories and MK4 documentation I had collected was all for the ThermoTop C, so I decided to play it safe and find one before all inventory was gone:

Did you take it aaaallllll the way back to the firewall or just cut/splice? The BEW harness comes with like 5ft of wire IIRC.

So I got myself, or rather got my guru to order, a new VW battery. After 5-6yrs it was showing its age this winter.
Took the two of us about 10 minutes max to get it in. Well the hood's open, I had a set of glow plugs, nice heated shop,,,,,
Dwayne was amenable, so I set about pulling the harness off.

Uh Oh, I'm getting pieces,,,,,,,,. Geeez, the last time I did a glow plug the barness came right off. 'Course that was about
6yrs and 70k ago. So I stopped, managed to at least get the clips on the end of the wires connected, and ordered the
harness, shoulda' just ordered the full kit to begin with.

Stumbled onto this photo today This is kind of MKIV content (there are 3 MKIVs in the photo).

My kids (silver Golf, MKII, MKIII) were home, the rest of those were mine. Still have IBW, and still have a red '99.5 Golf, but not that one. And my youngest son has a silver Golf, but not that one.

Guess I like VWs.

What did I do... got the 2000 Golf running. Something was shaking inside the fuel filter and it was dry. Swapped that with a fresh one, bled the IP and injectors, and took a video for the seller (his request). I think he was dismayed he sold me this car for $1500 and here I get it working two days later. Also swapped keys. Rather than f***ing with his crappy Ilco key, I opted to swap with a mk4 immo2 key I picked up from the junkyard. Swapped ignition cylinders, got the SKC via @gmenounos ' kw1281test, then programmed in VCDS and it worked beautifully. I just need to change the door lock next, and I don't care about the hatch. Then, I changed out the rear brakes, and had to put in new calipers, because several things were wrong with the ones that were already on there.

Also, in the 2003 Orange NB, I put in new transmission speed sensors... and found the PO or someone else stripped the hell out of one of the transmission mount bolts, so I need a new transmission mount now.

Almost looks like my driveway, but mine's more cluttered. 9 TDIs in all, if you count my 6 and mom's 3!

I just fixed the rear shocks on my car.

I'd installed a set of Monroe MaxAir air levelling shocks a couple years ago, due to constantly carrying a "bit" of a load in my trunk.
(The fact that I could get a set of shocks and the plumbing kit for under $75 at the time, was also a factor, as I'd had yet another Bilstein shock fail, and didn't want to cough up another $125 per shock...)

It turns out that I'd installed the air shock turned with the inlet connector to the rear on the right side, and it was too close to the fender liner where it apparently covers the tank fill neck. It eventually rubbed through the plastic line as it made the corner into the shock tube.
All it took was a bit of fiddling with the air line to cut it beyond the abraded spot and then re-flare the plastic with a lighter and a mechanics pick, as well as rotating the shock and applying a dab of silicone paste to lubricate the o-rings in the newly cleaned connection, and it was holding air again.

Drove my wagon to the chiropractors, had to goose it a little to merge into traffic on the highway, and had a bout of it stumbling, misfiring, and loooottttss of gray smoke. Lasted a good solid minute.

I can't wait til I get my replacement engine. I'm so done throwing money at this one.

Is this the one with the larger pistons, or am I remembering someone else's recent post?
Mine is getting 0.5 over pistons, I think it was something I posted on a thread you started. The engine in my car currently is 100% stock internals.
