Don't get me wrong, it's a little rough around the edges, both passenger doors, gate, and quarter panel have damage. Was a stolen recovery. But it runs super well and trans doesn't slip at all.

You could tow that with your beetle no problem...you'll need to come up with a better excuse than that :)
Not in its current state. The brakes are decent, the low power issue, not so much. I did receive my .205 injectors from DFIS today - hoping this resolves my power issue.

I do have a 1993 Ford Ranger, but the 5 spd. Very weak towing capability with that. It's essentially a small compact car with a bed.

@03TDICommuter ,
So you put an ALH with an 02j in the Ranger. Voila!
Get after benmarks to show you how to do the 4motion... :)

Just re-starter-ed the '02 ALH. It got a new H8 and still was slow on the key down. A new Valeo is in, and that beast is a fire breather.

And thanks for the reminder to keep after the maint on Lurch. that puppers will drag anything...LOL
cheers,
Douglas

What a steal! Cool to see. Your buddy should do a TB job ASAP!
Car is still in my driveway, I'm going to order a kit from idparts here soon, but want to pull the valve cover and check the cam/followers first.

Worked on my buddies 05 wagon this morning. Replaced a few missing fuses, replaced the burnt out bulbs, cleaned the EGR valve, and inspected the camshaft. Definitely needs a new one. Shame the Frank0 stage 2 cams for a BEW are so darned pricey. Probably going to go with idpaparts billet kit instead for now.

Not today, but on Saturday, forgot to mention I ran my car through emissions, first time since having my stage 4, passed flying colors. Helps I actually have everything on still ;)

Yeah, I had the same slight anxiety when I went through DEQ for the same reasons for the 1st time.

This most recent time in October, I almost failed due to a broken OBD port. They couldn't get their connector to stay in place long enough. Luckily, on literally the 10th try, it worked.

As I continue to drive her with the new lightweight wheels I have discovered that off idle acceleration and low rpm pull in second both have improved a ton, and believe it or not the transmission is shifting more smoothly. One slightly negative thing: nose lifts up a bit on takeoff - I guess the torque that was used to get the wheels rotating is now finding a new outlet. Not a big deal and don’t want stiffer springs so….

They are in league with car manufacturers……since they use garbage metal…..rusts out faster so must buy newer cars…..viscous cycle…..I’ve had two trucks less than 150,000 miles ……frames completely rotted out……funny thing is……it’s not really driven in the winter……. Used to move kids back and forth to college and HD runs…..

Re 4Motion project, as of today the front is done and the rear suspension/Haldex assembly is rebuilt. However, there's still the minor task of cutting out my rear floor pan and welding in the donor floor pan ;)

These photos show in no particular order: TT control arms and spindles, R32 334mm brakes, new H&R 25mm sway bar, new H&R coilovers, new R32 steering rack, 034 Motorsports adjustable sway bars links (probably didn't need them but whatever,) new tie rods, donor newly-powder coated and rebuilt 4Motion axles, new R32 front subframe, 02M transmission with new Peloquin LSD new steel shifter forks,"rebuilt" shifter assembly (i.e. I replaced the stalk and bushings and bottom plate, and re-greased everything) and new H&R coilovers.

Filled it up, $3.599 a gallon at Citgo. I was at 550 miles, with about an eighth showing on the gauge. I'm still sporting the vent, so she took 12.7 gallons, for 43.3 MPGs.

That's lower than my last tank (47), but it's been cold here with the polar vortex and all, and winterized diesel.

I also added 10 oz of Howe's Diesel Treat. That's about double the normal dose, but with temps getting to 0*F and below I thought it prudent (bottle also directs to double for better anti-gelling).
