Nice blue:)
I can't wait to see mine but it's still at the dock in Brunswick, Georgia last I heard (it was supposed to be at dealer tomorrow but looks like next week now).

Encouraged by this thread, I just ordered a USB cable to go with the lightning cable I hope to get with the car. I think weathertech mats and some protective bits (clear bra?) are next.
I'm actually visiting family in Germany next month and am hoping to bring/ship back a factory hitch and trailer harness and other goodies. I have a 700 lb. Scamp camping trailer that will be going behind.
That Dieseltuning module sounds really tempting, too...

Not very glamorous, but I got my first alignment and rotation/rebalance done today (gotta love Firestone and their Lifetime Alignments!).

Swapped out my v1.0 CR 12 module for the v2.0 CR 12 module. V1.0 had a slight vibration at 2000 rpm (very slight, hardly noticeable). Joe Hafner and the rest of the dieseltuning.ca crew sent their CR 12s to Wolfsburg for some additional tweaking/programming...just got the update module today. Great improvement!

In addition to eliminating the 2k shudder, the boys in Wolfsburg managed to massage some more juice out of this thing. The module can be adjusted for various power levels...I'm currently running Level "C" (approximately 300 ft./lbs. of twist).

Initial impressions are solid:

1. No detectable drivetrain shudder.
2. MPG remains steady (I'm currently clocking 41.8 MPG, mostly highway with some "spirited" jaunts).
3. Thrust off the line is MOST impressive...v1.0 was pretty great, but v2.0 of the CR 12 will seriously kick you back in your seat off the line...smooth power delivery continues across the RPM band.

Again, I'll post updates as I bank more miles, but this is a great option for those that don't want an ECU tune!
Hello Russ,
Where did you buy the CR 12 tuning box?
Thanks,
Sean

I installed my VW accessories Saturday: rear bumper protector and chrome tips. Nothing exciting, but I haven't seen many post their pictures of the GSW rear protector.

Looks good on yours, I wasn't for the silver color on white, went with RGM rearguard, can't wait till it arrives. I'm waiting for my cargo mat w/ blocks (until I can get a canvasback which is being measured next week I'm told) and the door sill protectors (black silver) to come in. I ordered some brushed aluminum for the inner trim, hopefully it matches the factory SE trim!

I'd like to see a pic of the RGM rearguard when you get it. Where did you order it from?

The s53 whispbars are really nice! On and off in a matter of minutes. Roof box clamps just clear the glass by 4-5 mm in the front. Drove 300 miles up I-15 with the box on and averaged 43.6 mpg.

I installed the new Travall pet barrier for GSW w/ Pano. Works great. I'll try to get a pic when I can.

NGP racing carries them in the US (few US suppliers), but they have not confirmed fitment yet on a US MK7 GSW or have any in stock. I put the deposit down with them, they are placing an order shortly. Shipping for 1 rearguard from RGM was 60bp, I figured I could wait a few extra weeks vs paying almost $100 to ship.

Post up the Travall pet barrier when you can....That is the setup I want to go with for carrying the pups around, canvasback in the rear along with pet barrier.

Question for you guys, I am considering ok pretty much sure I am doing it, getting a 2015 GSW SEL with the DSG( reasons being I had an issue a couple years back I couldn't drive my 6spd R for 12-16 weeks due to a surgery ) well I recently picked up a 09 JSW TDI 6spd. Question is the 09 is a IRS and the new are the Torsion Beam/Bar(depending on who you talk to) I see all you guys here with these and know that here in the US have the Torsion rear because of the AdBlue tank. How do you feel the car rides and handles? I know there have been a lot of complaints that they went with the Torsion system. this is not going to be anything more than my winter, bad weather/work car and well when I want to go somewhere and not leave the R parked where I don't want her. Any help would be awesome. And hoping that VWR makes the springs for the Sportwagen soon. I love them on my R

Honestly, I haven't seen much of a difference. The ride is a little stiffer overall due to the larger rims/lower profile tires.

Its similar to having a massive rear sway bar....And the worry/hype is completely unfounded. Especially since the vast majority of the group complaining, would as well upgrade the suspension to include massive rear sway bar (which connects the independent suspension anyways). I would not worry about that. Lots of good cornering setups used torsion rear beams, and its not killing the golf TDI. Just a quick look at lateral G's on the TDI vs TSI, the TDI is .06 behind, but they used different tires in the test (TSI had P-Zero 225/40/18's while the TDI ContactPro 225/45/17)....The .06 is easily from the tires themselves, and not the difference in the suspension system. Equally equipped (rims/tires)...imho the TDI would out corner the TSI stock, and ride just as comfortable

I washed the golf today and used a little Zymol cleaner wax. I really want drop springs.

Thanks skramer....I can agree that many good handling cars in the past have had them. And like I said if I want to run hard(er) and have more fast fun, my Bella( my R ) is in the garage waiting willingly to corner and run hard. Not that I will not drive the wagen spirited, I just wanted a more honest opinion for those of you that have them. Thanks again skramer. Now if I can just get confirmation the the Golf TDI VWR sportsprings will work well in the GSW TDI then I will be a happy camper....

The deAutoKey rear Brake/Tail/Turns in my opinion are the best LED upgrade they offer for the Mk7 Golf. The lights are brighter, fill more of the stock housing and light up much faster being an LED.

thanks for your feedback, about to pull the trigger on them, one more question though, is there a significant change in light output between tail light and brake light? just want to make sure that people behind me are not confused whether I just have my lights on or actually braking. thanks again

Got the windows tinted late last week. 35% on the front driver and passenger windows and 20% elsewhere.

No and he did a few MK7's and refuses to. I'm ok with that as it's not noticeable to me to care and rather not him or I take the time to pop the A pillars off. I'll try and get a picture showing it done without. I'm fully against halfassing, but can't justify it. I know plenty of shops do and I'm familiar with the procedure to get to it but am ok with it not done. :)

I did not understand why the GSW has LED's up front, but for the cargo area we get a horrible light for the rear...I have a weekend full of projects on the GSW (sills, cargo mat, interior sills, rev LED's), but this was the easiest of them, and such a nice gain.

So, I did a lot of stuff with my MK7 today.

First, I turned 1K miles.

No, my mileage isnt quite that bad. I pressed the trip button a while after I filled my car. However, I am only getting about 30 MPG so far =(

Second, I debaged the trunk and Third I dipped the VW emblems and the chrome grill piece....
