Awesome, I just installed the 17/52 into my BEW with egr/cooler delete with RC4 and it rocks - no lag, and no smoke at 22.5psi. and 70mg/R fueling!

We'll meet up soon for an update of one's and zeros.

;-)
HEY!! Why do you get the RC4 and I only got the RC3?? That's not fair!! What do you have that is so different to allow that?!?!? That is what I wanted at KROUTS!!

I haven't done anything TO my car. But I did just put 1100 miles on it in under 36 hours. Peoria IL to East most campground of Long Island for a much needed vacation.

First time I've had my RC3 up through the mountains. Damn I love diesels. CSLA (Constant Speed Load Acceptance) just rocks. I'd hit those climbs at 80 MPH and doing about 6 psi of boost and you'd just hear the turbo spool up and boost would jump up to 12-15.

Even had some guy in some sports car try and take me going up one of the steeper ones: 70->95 MPH up an incline that was dropping Semis off left and right in a car that is 10 years old and has 210k on the clock, nothing short of awesome.

Replaced my G62 coolant sensor (boo VW!), spilled tons of coolant on the driveway, ordered more G12! Rotated the tires, looked at my brakes and was shocked at the amount of rust on the rotors and total lack of pad wear. Switched out the drivers side wiper and finally decided to not try to mount the silly black aero cover on the new wiper.

Well, technically I didn't do anything, it was more like Jeff of Rocketchip doing all the work.

Got RC2 at the Michigan Summer GTG at Marty Bergell's place today. Didn't stop smiling the whole way home :) :)

In other words, the Golf is MUCH more peppy now.

Changed oil(Rotella T synthetic-as usual), new airfilter(vacuumed inside air box and cleaned snow screen), washed car and scrubbed the hell out of the wheel covers, waxed a little, drill-buffed headlights/taillights with Meguiars PlastX, put some Power Service-Diesel Kleen in the tank, tried to adjust left headlight downward a bit...frik-a-fracken stripped up old plastic allen screw junk, adjusted shifting linkage a little, wiped off dash etc., drove 15 miles, and tucked er' in till morning!:)

Left her with a trusted TDI mechanic for new timing belt, water pump, pulleys,
and troubleshooting her startup smoking problem. Also ordered XM radio for when I get her back from the mechanic.

Yesterday drove the '97 890 miles from Fowlerville (Michigan GTG) to MA. Drove at 70-75 for the first 300 miles, filled it, saw 47 MPG. Drove the remining 590 miles home and still have more than 1/4 tank, and was going 80 most of the time, A/C on. I'm guessing about 44-45 for the trip. The .681 is really nice on the highway, although going back from 16 to 14" wheels would soften some of the bumps.

Replaced the right rear brake light. The "idiot light" came on and the MFD warning clued me in as to which one was out. It outlasted the left rear by 6 months. Had bulb in stock!

Over the weekend I changed out my gear oil, again. I just had a new transmission put in about 6000 miles ago and had the wrong gear oil put in by the tech (it was way to thick) so I had that fixed right away. Now when I changed it (per tranny specialists recomendations for a new transmission) I put in Redline MTL. I am suprised at how much of a difference it made, but the shifts still feel a little tough. Hopefully it's just because I've only experienced synchros of 150000+ miles.

I finished up the power folding mirror mod I started 8 months ago. Took forever to source a set of the power window motors that were required for the control circuits. Otherwise, everything else went smooth as can be.

One more kewl but worthless mod done. Meh.

Well today I haven't done anything... but since Memorial weekend I have done the following on my new to me 2000 Jetta TDI:

TB change
cleaned intake
installed EGR delete kit with vented EGR
upgraded turbo to VNT 17
uploaded Q loader tune
changed nozzles to Sprint 520's
replaced Mass airflow sensor
added a TDI heater
cleaned snow screen
changed air filter
changed cabin filter
changed engine oil
changed trans. gear lube
replaced shocks/struts/springs, with OEM "sport" package
upgraded headlight switch to euro
replaced marker and reflex lights with smoked versions
replaced tailights with Hella smoked version
replaced bad taillight bulb
changed oem wheels to BBS RXII's with 205/55-16 Goodyear assurance tires
had the window's tinted
replaced OEM stereo with a complete 700watt system
replaced OEM grille with FK wire mesh grille

And I think that about covers it. Only two more things to do. Install my smoked Hella E codes with fogs and change/fix that damn door lock module switch.

How much better is the PD150 manifold supposed to do? It doesn't look that much bigger and/or better flowing than the PD100? Let me know what you think about that shiz.

Thanks.

I thought that too, but when I had them side by side, it looks TINY compared to the PD 150. the 150 runners are easily 2X bigger than the 100's. I cant tell you of any improvements yet, I am still taking it easy on my clutch. but I can tell you I now have a very slight bit of lag because of the change. it is that much bigger.

On Monday I received a pkg. of parts in the mail.

-Installed tdi badging below VW logo on back of Bug.

-Replaced center cap on one tire of Bug. The VW logo had gone missing.
-Replaced center cap on one tire of Jetta. The VW logo had gone missing.

-Replaced trim piece around gas switch and hatch switch. Now they don't pull out of the door when I use them.

-Considered replacing firewall insulation but decided I needed help from someone more experienced than myself.

-Washed and waxed Bug. I don't think it had been waxed in over 6 yrs.:( It really needs to be claybarred, but I'll have to do that another time.

Today I received my new aluminum skid plates for the Jetta and the Bug. If my driveway wasn't so gravelly and off kilter, I'd attempt an install of them on my next day off. ;)

Counting down the days to the PDX GTG!!!!!

Got one of these installed. With backup camera and XM. Happy!!
How did the double-din install go? any good pics?

I'd love to put one of these in my Jetta but all the guides say double din doesn't fit. Kenwood w/ Garmin GPS=.

I put an EGR delete on my car today. The EGR cooler is still there though so I didn't have to crack any coolant lines..

Not exactly sure what you installed this in, so I was wondering what you did for the camera & mount. My MFD-G has the option of adding a reversing camera, but I haven't been able to work up an OEM-looking install yet. Nothing as kewl as the Touareg/Tiguan option anyways.

Took the Golf to the body shop to get a quote.
My wife backed into it with her Toyota last night:(
She could've used my new backup camera.

The Kenwood unit, it's in my Golf ('03)
Fits great, works great, I'm happy.
The backup camera is right by the rear license plate, so it's definitely not OEM-look, but I can't see it unless I wash the car, so I don't care. Sorry, no pics.

New brakes and rotors front and back Thanks for the great price TDIparts.

Now the reason I did it was a wierd shutter in the brake pedal like the antilock was activating and its still there.
Darn more money I gotta pay to the mechanic. I should have mentioned it when I dropped it off, but all I told him is I need new brakes.
I really hate when I forget those little things.

Had a double-din stocker, and I had it installed. The shop made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

Cleaned, pop tested and re-shimmed. Polished and flushed the injector pipes too.

notice the spots of oil on the coolant hose. I just discovered my intake charge hose to the IM has a hole.. oh goody, another thing to fix...

What I really wanted to show was that after I pop tested and shimmed my injectors, the group 13 data was just outstanding.

The engine is also much smoother at idle and accelerating. Less smoke, but I figure the torn hose is causing some of that. I'm leaking boost for sure.

Timing is right where I want it...

Went to the auto parts store and found a hose that closely matched the bend in the charge hose and cut to fit.

The car is almost smoke free now and runs even better... yay. :)
