Curious as to what you do to require this set up in your car?
I sell and maintain similar set ups for City/County public safety vehicles among other things. Usually we are putting these in Fire Trucks, Ambulances, and Police patrol vehicles.
This is mostly for demonstration purposes, but I hope to make good use of it for a mobile office as well.

Adjusted the toe-out on my 2-dr. I did this while waiting for my turkey to cook and during a break from TV.

I didn't use a tool - just recentered the steering wheel. One tie rod end got replaced during my most recent inspection (last week), and after that the steering wheel was off. So I thought about it and realized it had to be toe-out because of how the steering wheel was off and the side that was changed. So only that side needed to be adjusted.

I'm going to have to make a tool so I can be sure I have it right.

Got my new turbo installed - GTC1444VZ from the Volvo D3 (will start a thread about it next week when I have time to get everything sorted out). Definitely not a drop in like the 17/22 that it replaced, but the oil feed, oil drain and turbo outlet hose all lined up well enough to re-use which was a pleasant surprise. VNT Actuator hits the axle in the stock location - I was able to cobble the 17/22 actuator on to make it work temporarily until I come up with a better solution. Exhaust downpipe required some minor modifications and the turbo inlet pipe had to be completely made from scratch.

As a point of reference - the 1444 with no vacuum to the actuator spools just like a tuned 17/22 does with a fully functional VNT mechanism. It's definitely much more lively below 2000 RPM. Exhaust pressures run 66-75% of boost pressures up to ~2500 RPM. Around 2500-3000 Boost and Exhaust are ~equal. Over 3000 RPM exhaust starts going over boost and peaks at ~100% over boost up at 4500 RPM.

This is not a high RPM turbo, but "drives" very well so far (and there's more potential in it I believe once I get the actuator properly setup)

I'll post pictures when I'm back on a machine that has Office 2003, SnagIt and Windows XP (I'm too stupid to run Office 2010, or Windows 7 and don't have the patience to figure out where everything moved to or who's moronic idea it was to change all of it around in the first place. That person should be kicked in the shin repeatedly until that idea goes away and never comes back)

Looking forward to more info on that turbo. Seems like a good daily driver candidate.

I got back into using office after a several year break and feel like a total idiot on 2010. Need a tutorial.

Well, there is always LibreOffice; don't know how it compares to MSOffice version-wise. I know I can save in the older .doc, .xls, etc. file formats.

LibreOffice, aka OpenOffice, was forked when Oracle bought out Sun and didn't play nice with whatever license was being used. The Excel equivalent, aka Calc, has the same general structure and interface of Excel '97. It's missing some more advanced features that the newest interruptions have, but it's still not bad. I made my cumulative dyno graph in LibreOffice.

I used to have the latest versions of OpenOffice, LibreOffice, and NeoOffice, but I just deleted OpenOffice, and will probably do the same with NeoOffice as I found I was using LibreOffice almost exclusively.

As for what I did with my TDI today, I made sure that a 44 gallon Rubbermaid Brute would fit in the back with the rear seats still up.

Pulled my 6 speed out to remove my failing Sachs dual mass flywheel. Installed LUK flywheel and began bolting LUK pressure plate on with the Sachs bolts. Then I discovered that the LUK uses M7 whereas the Sachs uses M6. Big mess. Tripled the size of the job.
Lost the only key I have to my wagon during the process. Anyone have experience getting a key cut from VIN?

ouch!
Unless you saved the 4 digit key code that was attached to your valet key then replacing a key with only the VIN is going to cost you about $300 at a dealership.
Maybe your local locksmith has the resources to help you out.

Is the 4 digit pin for the keys the same as the SKC from the cluster?

I have the black tag with the key code on it but I did not find it in the spare tire area until I had already replaced my cluster with the FIS version. I have no way to compare.

I am going to like this tune.

Weird. I might have a stocker 'limited-slip' already. 2 feet of snow and my new Conti's cannot be that good..?

Extra tourqe and an easy foot was awesome, even with these low Golfs. ?

The bus couldn't make it up my hill. Woo!

Took the ST coilovers off the wagon in favor of OEM front and rear springs w/ Koni FSDs. I didn't measure the ride height w/ coilovers (I know they are adjustable) vs. the OEM springs, but based on my driveway scrape-o-meter, I've determined that I am a tad lower in the front and guestimating about an inch+ higher in the rear.

I purchased the car w/ a pzwo front clip w/ some sort of lip (maybe a 4motion lip). I scrape the front on tons of driveways, but the vehicle itself isn't all that low...it's just the way the front clip is.

...and I installed new front and rear mounts, bearings, hardware, bump stops, dust boots, AND rear axle bushings. :) fun stuff.

Before picture - IMO, PERFECTLY stanced looks wise. The rebound on the coilovers were too harsh for my taste, plus I found that one of the rear shocks was dead...likely the reason things were so harsh.

After picture - w/ new Pirelli Cinturados, stock springs and FSD's

and here is a pic of the front...The original owner put some $$$ into this car

I'd like to replace this un-identified part, help pls

I am looking to clean, possibly replace my EGR valve as it is leaking, but also, passenger side, underneath the car, I see this part also leaking oil...

Can someone identify this part for me?
Thanks in advance.:)

That section of your turbo outlet piping is referred to as the "Pancake Pipe" because that section of pipe had to be flattened (pancaked) somewhat to provide clearance for the tire while turning.
There will be a small amount of oil accumulated in that piping including the inter-cooler (SMIC) from the turbo oil seal and the CCV from the valve cover to the turbo inlet pipe.

I'm having issue viewing your video.

Passenger side leaking oil is going to be from the turbo. Small amounts of oil will travel down the lower intercooler piping and shows a small oily mess there. It is common.

Thanks romad, but that still didn't work for me. Must be my network. I watched it on my phone.

As somebody said earlier. That's the pancake pipe. There is probably nothing wrong with the pipe itself, but I beleive IDparts has replacement seals for that pipe.
http://www.idparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1383

but, as long as there isn't more than a small amount of oil in there, I'd just leave it alone. Those lower intercooler pipes are a PITA and I always have trouble getting a good seal once taken off.

Good luck with the fix. It's a diesel...it's suppose to leak oil. :)

Currently swapping a 5 speed into my passat! Great opportunity to address other issues so I just pulled the engine and tranny out as one. Last night I replaced the tandem pump gasket....MUCH easier when the engine is out...and I also replaced the rear main seal for good measure. Should be nice and dry for a while now!
