What’s involved in replacing an oil cooler?

I finally took my Jetta into the mechanic to find the oil leak, and they told me it’s coming from the oil cooler. They don’t have much experience with oil coolers or diesel Volkswagens, and recommended taking it to a specialist. Looking online, the replacement doesn’t seem too difficult for me to handle, but it might be a lot of steps.
Anyone know what’s required to replace an oil cooler? From what I’ve gathered, it’s where the oil filter screws in, and I may have remove some coolant lines to access it. I also might need to remove the face of the car, but that might be optional?
Can someone verify that’s all that’s required? I’d like to avoid disassembling the car as much as possible unless it’s needed for access. Don’t feel like paying a VW-specific mechanic to do the job either.

Possibly accurate guide I found?
