While doing a pre-purchase inspection on a 2010 JSW, I tried to remove the fuel filter to see if it was full of HPFP metal shavings. After removing the torx screws, the cover came off with difficulty, and left most of the fuel filter in the case. It looked like the plastic part separated from the metal cover, and then the filter media had to be chiseled out with pliers and a screwdriver.
So now I need a new filter housing. Ordered one off eBay from a 2012 that said was good for 2010 to 2014, but it looks different than mine.
Part numbers are different as well.
2010 1KO 127 400 F
2012 1KO 127 400 K
I’ll post pics as soon as I figure out how.
1. Can I use the later style filter housing on my earlier style engine? It’s shorter, but looks like it uses the same mounting bracket.
2. Any idea why the filter stuck in my original housing?
