VW pickup will be showing up with a for sale sign...

PM me an e-mail for pics as I don't want to clog this thread.
Also let it be known that this is my father-in-law's truck and he will not be there to seal a deal, he lives less than an hour away. He just had surgery and will not be mobile yet.

His words.... "1981 caddy. New TDI motor (not rebuilt) installed 2013. New 5spd. man trans with diesel gearing 2013. Rebuilt turbo 2013. Very little rust over-all. Rhino liner in bed. Interior is ok, has not been redone yet. Tires (14in) almost new. New brakes this year. 48 mpg at 60 mph, 35-38mpg at 80 mph. Specific original year topper very good condition.

Asking 6,000 cash or will trade for jetta or jetta wagon TDI diesel.

Welcome! As Nathan pointed out already, just show up - if you so desire, you can bring a dish to pass, or an app, or snack. Bring your own beverages (see first post in this thread)

Look forward to meeting you,

Kirk

Jason and I plan to be there from 9am - noon. Looking forward to it, as this is the first time we've been to the west side of the state in several years.

PS, we're bringing Haru, our Shiba Inu. :)

Well, this might turn into changing a coolant temp sensor also. I was driving wifeys wagon today and noticed the scangauge water temp would flash between 180F* and 120F*. The needle holds steady at 190F* but the scangauge tells a different tale. Are we still a go Kirk?

Possibly, but Eric Peterson (the really good electrical troubleshooter) is not going to make it now, although his car will be there.

also have a variable temp solder station with heat gun for smt rework, if anybody needs to use it.
Actually, wifeys wagon needs some resistors soldered into her turn signals. I installed LED turn signal bulbs and now it has the fast blink... I'm terrible at soldering...

Kirk, I will be there in the morning but will need to leave by noon or so.

There is a much better way to fix the fast blink.

I'm not going to lie, that link didn't do me any good (I'm not electrical savy). Anywho, wifey and I plan to be there early in the morning Saturday. Do I need to bring anything to eliminate the fast blink?

there is a black chip on the board that controls the blink rate.
It also has a current sensor, so can tell when a bulb is out (but not which one)
disconnecting the sense pin from the circuit makes it always think that the bulbs are good.
ergo, no fast blink!

Just need the car, a couple basic tools to remove the switch, and an xacto knife to cut the trace. Bring the car and you should be all set.:p

Would happen too have any of those special hose clamp pliers on hand?
Oil cooler hose sprung a leak, have it rigged right now.

Case 580 Super M,
I won't be able to make it this weekend. I just got moved to a new dept at work.
Gotta work 8pm-8am 6 days a week. My day off is Wednesday.

The schedule completely sucks, but the paychecks are awesome.
