weird hesitation 04 bew

I've been experiencing weird behavior lately my car is hesitating at 2500 rpm on the highway about 15 minutes after leaving home. today after about 10 minutes the car was shaking violently when accelerating I pulled over and shut it off. When I started back up there and perfectly for the next 100 kilometers. there's no smoke and it happens while idle and not moving.

Any ideas? Thank you Richard

First guess would be fuel as it seems you are a bit further north and the temps are dropping. Are you treating your fuel?

I always use husky diesel max that has additives. And it hasn't been that cold yet but I'm also thinking fuel. I have the day tomorrow to check everything out i guess i will try a new fuel filter. Hopefully its not the tandem pump. Also the engine has 440000 km but has been well maintained.
