It can't get any wetter than the 06 Philly Fest, the rain fest. We had fun anyway.

Hmm

If you're having a wet weekend with Isaac, you must be in Gitmo. Hopefully you aren't one of the "residents" :D
Ah, not THIS weekend; check out the projected path due north of Alabama.

Philly was wet but the big overhang at the conf room area was a blessing. The Show and Shine was dry and the auto cross event.

Just throwing this out there...

It obviously won't be high winds or a strong storm, but it could make for a rainy weekend. We'll have to keep an eye on this. Bring swim trunks and don't be afraid to get wet! :D
Oh, thank you for an NHC link. Love it when folks actually use the NWS and not TWC. :)

I'm not exactly made of sugar and certainly won't melt.:what: Let it rain. :D:D We need it....badly.

Guess who's in New Orleans (well Kenner, actually, near the airport) this evening?
Guess who's hoping to get the hell out on Monday afternoon!

Wow Lug_Nut! Be safe and get some pics if you're still in town when the storm starts to blow in!

I'd love to follow a road trip thread if you are inclined to post one. If not, happy driving!

Map updates show that the storm is going to track north through Missouri and Illinois just in time for Fest. We should all expect a rainy weekend.

I'm going to go ahead and look into renting a second 20'x30' tent in addition to the one we are already lined up to receive and the two 20'x20' tents that IDParts and Bora Parts are getting.

Weather.com says only isolated thunderstorms Sat and Sun, and 30% of rain Mon. Seems to me that the hurricane may either go west of us or be pretty much blown out by the time it covers that much land.

Weather.com doesn't usually take tropical storm tracks into account this far out. (at least in my experience)

The wind is getting brisk, and the evac has begun. Private cars are filling the outbound routes, and empty chartered busses and utility crews are about all that's headed in. I'm glad I'm out today and headed north.
There's no panic, but people remember Katrina all too well.

Glad everyone is getting out in advance of this storm. Better to be prepared than to have a repeat of previous events.

The storm's track has really slowed down! Now it looks as if it won't make it to Michigan until Monday.
