hi everybody,

i just wanted to share my journey with my polo with you guys.

2011 November 23, I Purchased a 2006 Polo TDI Sportline with 105 000kms,
all it had was Q7 reps.
The GTI grill and lights appeared on the vehicle history whilst at 7kms,
somehow the original dealer added these

it was a female owner, and the car was super clean!

Phase 2

I then went on a mission to have a simple and smart look to it,

i sourced 16" Sportline facelift wheels,
genuine GTI sideskirts and boot spoiler and rear diffuser.
and painted the front bumper gti style.
added a AMG tail piece for that cupra feel since its a diesel...
and i relocated the badges like a GTI.

the car was then lowered,

added some tuning ,

115kw 378nm @ Kwikfit Chatsworth Durban,

157hp 387nm @ Richards Bay

The car managed a 15.8 standard, 15.5 with a cheap remap and i brought it down to 15.2 with a self tune. with just a de-cat and mufflectomy.

Phase 3, The Guinea Pig

This is where my car got messed up,
from fiddling with stuff, not putting stuff back and continuously trying stuff.
This is the real school fees.
Also i put on a set of matt gunmetal grey cupra wheels.
and a fmic, with boost pipes that came out the bumper...long story.

the car managed to make 135kw @ APR Durban @ 1.55bar.
One night i was rushing home, i really abused my car, and the EGT's went thru the turbo. and a conrod had bent in the process
260 000kms, the car had an overhaul on the block. and a GT1749V turbo.
Software was restored.

So i decided to be patient this time, build my car neatly,
i went with the plastic cup replica bumper and an original seat sport intercooler with oem pipes attached and the rest are 50mm from the turbo to cooler and cooler to intake is 63mm.

this was short lived, 2 weeks later i knocked a truck tyre that was left on the free way ,and the car had been gone into the panel shop.

Phase 4 - Resurrection

Since im well insured i took it the best panel shop i know,
AutoSpray Empangeni,

Complete new front all OEM VW Parts,

car came back like brand new car,

wheels went in for some super gloss black paint

i had to personally fix my rear bumper from a hit and run accident

i decided to go with a color coded diffuser one time,

red brake calipers

So the car is basically back to stock, just had the cupra cooler, no software, mufflerectomy. GTI Body kit and cupra wheels...

GTB2260VK

Log style manifold, it weighs more than the turbo

test fit

Upcomming plans is : (in the correct order)
:)Modified head + Cupra headbolts (before end 2014) 250HP
:DFirad Nozzles (March 2015) 300hp
;)Rosten Rods and More boost (before end 2015) 400hp
:eek:LSD (2016) and a 12second quarter mile.

and then im done , my next car should be a RS3.;)

Just an update. ..its been a while,
The car was in another accident, this time i knocked a boulder placed on the highway, im assuming for theft purposes. ..

Since then Ive had to replace the steering rack, front axle,
Ive replaced shocks with height adjustable coilovers, the cupra cooler was damaged and ive replaced that with a 400x300x76. The car was set at 1.8 bar, made 232hp and 2.2 bar with more fuelling and timing, same dyno... and it made 230hp.
The cast manifold isnt holding up well due to the lack of bracing, i had to ditch the log style due to the flange warping and there was no time to face it off, so ive put a glange on the cast manifold, allows easy removal of the turbo, just had it redone a month ago, and the engineers told me that the cast isnt gonna hold up, so ive decided to use another engineer to build up another log style manifold similar to xman's ones.
Ive just purchases a cylinder head from a ATD,
Its getting port+polish, 3angle valve seats,
120% firad nozzles
Piper cams stage 1

I have a SMF already,
Apart from Nitrous and LSD, i cannot think of anything else i can do....

Pictures to follow very soon :D

So as ive been purchasing my items, my bore decided to show its age, after 400 000kms... guess it was time....

so we've ported the head...

added a bigger cam

ARL Pistons (Alcan) 20 thou with Forged Conrods

Complete assembly balanced, the crank was terribly off.

assembled,

and since we're already in a huge amount of debt, i decided to import the best chra i could find.

Ive got a set of 80% nozzles but unfortunately cannot find someone in my country to install and calibrate them.
So I will have to get a calibrated set imported and this time i want 120%.... but for now,
I cant wait to get my engine back in, get dirty with tuning, and see if i can make more than the 172kw i made prior to this.

Should make some good power with your rebuilt engine there. I'm looking forward to see what it can do when it's all back together.
