This might be a long shot but I thought I post it up anyways. I recently removed my cat after it broke on the aft side. After driving around without one for a couple of months I've decided that the extra haze and drone are not something I can live with so I've decided I'm going to be putting it back on.

The cat looks plugged quite a bit so prior to installing it back on I was wondering if giving it a rinse in soapy water would do it any harm? I'm more concerned about removing any soot but I'm not sure what effect this would have on the cat. It would be something along the lines of this vid :

Any input?

Take a broom handle and knock it out.

If you can't live with the drone, I don't notice any without my cat btw, just have a resonator installed

Buy a new one, they are not that expensive. Then drive on into the sunset. No smoke and no drone. Many times the effort to delete or clean something is not worth the time or energy involved.

I deleted my cat & also cleaned the oem one in laundry detergent before storing it away.

So you really don't know if it is actually clean or not as you didn't put it back on the car. Was it clogged or did you just remove it?
